Gosport & Fareham RFC recognises that all children have the right to participate in sport in a safe, positive and enjoyable environment whilst at the same time being protected from abuse, neglect, harm and poor practice.

This is the responsibility of everyone involved in our Club in whatever capacity.  Rugby’s core values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship are what makes the game special for those who enjoy the environment and culture they create.

To achieve this the Club has implemented and complied with the RFU Code of Conduct and the Codes of Conduct for Coaches, Spectators and Officials through the implementation of its Safeguarding Policy.

A child is anyone under the age of 18 and the duty of care in regards to that child extends to all activities undertaken at the club.

Particular care must be taken where persons under 18 are participating in club activities and games with persons over 18.

The Club Safeguarding Officer (CSO) manages the necessary checking procedures and coaching requirements for the Mini Youth Section to try to ensure that the highest standards are achieved in our application of our duty of care.  RugbySafe, the RFU’s overarching player safety and wellbeing programme to support clubs, schools, colleges, universities and participants at all levels of the game is applied to this process.
