Three Gosport & Fareham players were in action for Hampshire yesterday as they racked up their biggest ever score in a County Championship game by beating Somerset 5-66 writes Brian Seeney.

The Dugan brothers, Wes and Wayne, who both played in the competition's opening game at Gosport Park which Hampshire won 56-35 the previous weekend, were joined in the Hampshire side by Gos forward Sean Shepherd.

Wes got Hampshire off to the perfect start divign in at the corner for his side's first try after only two minutes.

Hampshire's second win in the Bill Beaumont County Championship Rugby - Division 2 Pool 2 match at Taunton means they are now only one game away from a third successive trip to Twickenham for the final.

Hampshire are away to Warwickshire at Rugby Lions RFC next Saturday.
