Gosport & Fareham RFC have achieved the RFU Club Accreditation status.

"This is the result of a lot of effort and commitment by many volunteers over a number of years, as we have developed the processes and set the high standards required to provide an improving quality of experience for all involved in rugby at Gosport Park," said Chairman Alan Foulger.

"The Accreditation process has helped us improve and document our processes and practices. It will also continue to monitor the good practices we have in place working to the games core values and help maintain and improve our standards.

"It has certainly been a worthwhile exercise and provides a great recommendation as a Club growing the game in the communities that surround us and to develop our players' rugby skills in a safe environment.

"I set the goal of achieving the award by the end of the 2016/17 season, finally receiving acknowledgement from the RFU at the beginning of July 2017.

"My thanks go to the Executive and other Club members who had to discuss and review large amounts of documentation.

"Also a big thank you goes to Chris Blockley Webb who was responsible for pulling all the information together and documenting it all with his skills expertise. Also thanks to Kieran Spencer (HRFU RDO) for his support."

There will be an official presentation of the Accreditation Award to the Club by Rick Scott, President of the Hampshire RFU at the league lunch this Saturday (16th September).
