Hampshire's dream of winning a second successive County Championship title were shattered by Leicestershire at Twickenham this afternoon when the team - captained by Gosport & Fareham scrum half Wes Dugan and containing club mates centre brother Wayne and hooker Tim Snowden - were beaten 39-7 writes Brian Seeney.

Their opponents who fielded mostly National League players were leading by just 8-0 at half-time after Hampshire had barely managed a meaningful attack.

In the second half Pierre-Alex Clark scored the best try of the day and only Hampshire try but Leicestershire's experience and superiority gave them a convincing victory.
