Le Havre Rugby Club will visit Gosport Park on Sunday to take on our Colts in a special match (2.30pm kick off) writes Brian Seeney.

The teams will play for the Brian Mays Memorial Trophy and it is hoped the game will become an annual event.

The French touring party are In Dorset tomorrow and have arranged their trip to play Gos on Sunday because of the special friendship between Luc Barray of Le Havre and the late Brian Mays.

Brian's widow Cynthia and his son Owen have put up the trophy because Luc and Brian were lifelong friends with Brian taking youngsters on several short tours to Le Havre to play rugby with the French visiting Gosport for return games.

Brian (pictured) started coaching at Gosport & Fareham in 1993 with the Under 12s age group. He moved up the age groups in successive years until spending four seasons coaching the Colts section.
