The new Head Coach of Gosport & Fareham RFC is Barry Bridgman writes Brian Seeney.

Barry (aged 61) has plenty of experience at both County and Club level and takes over from Neil McRoberts who stood down at the end of last season.

Barry is a former coach of Nomads, Winchester and Trojans and at Hampshire County level has coached age groups at Under 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, Colts, Under 20, Senior XV and County RFU Elite Player Development Group.

Club chairman Alan Foulger said: "We are pleased to announce the appointment of Barry as Head Coach of Gosport & Fareham RFC.

"We believe with his coaching background and experience of London 1 rugby with Winchester and Trojans, we have the right man to help the Club maintain its status in London 1 and help develop the squad and in particular the younger players to the standard required at our current level."

Commenting on his appointment, Barry (pictured) said: "I am really relishing the opportunity of coaching in London 1 South division again with Gosport & Fareham.

"A new club, new players and new coaches should give me enough to think about

"I'm really looking forward to getting to know people at the club that I don't already know from 'the circuit' and re-acquainting myself with those that I do know.

"There are a lot of talented players at the club and I hope I can help bring out the best in them."
