Our Under 14s turned up to Havant to play an unusually formatted match against the Butser Barbarians but ended 10-45 winners.

The two halves were punctuated by the first half of a Havant v Petersfield match, the referee announcing he wouldn't be keeping score and there would be no conversions.

As the rain kicked in and the winds picked up, Gosport and Fareham quickly ran in two tries - one by Dave Lewis on debut.

Gosport and Fareham had added a third with Barbarians replied with a try.

Two further tries from Rob Ellis, one coming from a brilliant kick charge down and follow up rucking from Alex Burnett, bookended the Barbarians' second for 10-25 at half-time.

After watching the first half of the Havant v Petersfield match, the boys took to the pitch again, this time playing up the slope and into the wind.

The drizzle had made the ball slippery and handling errors were creeping in on both sides.

The first 15 minutes of the half were spent in the Gos 22 with a relentless onslaught from the rested Barbarians held back by a solid defence and good counter rucking from Gosport & Fareham.

The Barbarians were unlucky, running the ball dead and dropping the ball in two try scoring opportunities.

With fatigue starting to show on both sides, Gosport & Fareham got back into their stride, running in four unanswered tries from Rob Ellis and Harvey Field.
