The 1st XV will kick off next season in London 2 South West Division by playing two successive local derbies at home with Head Coach Barry Bridgman facing a former club on day one writes Brian Seeney.

On Saturday September 9th they will welcome Winchester to Gosport Park, where Bridgman coached before joining Gos at the start of last season.

Then a week later the visitors will be Eastleigh, promoted from London 3 SW at the end of last season as runners-up to champions Farnham.

Gos will have their first meeting with the North Hampshire club on October 21st at Gosport Park.

The first away fixture comes on September 30th at Twickenham who Gos last met when the two were in London 2 South West together in season 2013-14.

During December, the traditional Christmas celebrations will be tricky to schedule as Gos won't have a pre-Christmas home game of the two they will play that month. Gos are away to Effingham & Leatherhead, who just avoided relegation last season on December 9th then go to Eastleigh on December 16th.

Last season's runners-up in London 2 SW were Camberley, who narrowly lost their promotion play-off at home to Old Colfeians 17-20. Camberley will face Gos at Gosport Park on November 4th.

The third Hampshire derby for Gos will see them play Andover for the first time in the season in an away game on October 28th.

Relegation to London 2 SW means Gos will play two games less next season because there are only 12 teams in the division whereas London 1 South contains 14 teams.

The sides relegated from London 2 SW were Portsmouth and Warlingham.
