Colts
Welcome to our Colts' section which is regarded as one of the best in Hampshire and beyond...
We offer quality coaching and competitive rugby to players of all abilities aged 16-19 years old - many go on to play for our senior teams.
This season a new Colts' structure has been put in place by the Hampshire County Rugby Union.
Teams will play in two leagues on a ‘home & away' basis with the top seven teams in Hampshire playing in the ‘Hampshire Cup League' and the remaining seven clubs playing in the ‘Hampshire Plate League'.
Due to a number of outstanding performances in recent season - most notably we were County champions in 2006-7 and runners-up last season - our club has been placed in the ‘Hampshire Cup League'.
As in past seasons, we will also run a Development squad who play friendly games against teams in Hampshire and surrounding counties.
Our Colts will also compete in the Hampshire Under 18's Cup and in the National League Knockout Cup competition.
In recent years Colts from our club have played at Hampshire U17s, U18s, School, Divisional and England trial levels.
Our dedicated and professional coaches follow the guidelines set out by the Rugby Football Union (RFU) and the Hampshire Rugby Football Union. All coaches and assistants are CRB cleared - the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) clearance is a process of establishing identity and checking against records held by the police, health and education departments.
Training is held on a Thursday evening, in conjunction with the 1st team squad, arriving at 6.45pm for a 7pm start and generally lasts for about two hours. Match day kick-off time is normally 2pm (on Sundays) with information and details being announced in-advance.
We welcome players of all standards including those new to the game, so please come along or contact one of the Management/Coaching staff for more information - details can be found under ‘Club Contacts'.
